Description

Red 2

The player is fairly new to the game with little or no coaching

Red 1

The player has developed some tennis specific skills, however rallying with movement and control is not yet achieved

Yellow 2

The player can complete the shots but needs more on court experience.

Yellow 1

The player can rally with control and starting to have good court positioning.

Green 2

The player plays at least twice a week and is starting to play matches.  The player is becoming fairly comfortable all round and would like to improve on doubles tactics and serving.

Green 1

The player is starting to understand spin and is comfortable with basic doubles tactics.  Can also hit a variety of shots.

Brown 2

The player can play with and understand spin.  Also has had at least three years of coaching experience.  The player should be playing regular matches and be comfortable with hitting a variety of serves with accuracy.  

Brown 1

The Player is mid club standard and is looking to improve pace and control.  The next step is executing more advanced doubles tactics.

Blue

The player is approaching top club standard and is comfortable in understanding more advanced doubles match play but needs to improve movement to the ball and recovery.  They can start to implement all types of serve and can put away volleys and smashes.

Pink

The player can play with pace and control.  They are top club standard and can use a variey of strategies in a competitive situation.

Black

The player is County standard or above.
